Places Here are a selection of Maori place names throughout the Wairarapa region. The common name for each place is provided in capitalised bold letters and then followed by the Maori name for the place. This order has been decided upon to make place names easier to find. Some places have breakdowns of the words provided, some have meanings in brackets, while others have stories or short histories written about each. This is not a complete list as there are many more Maori place names throughout region. As more come to light or are remembered they will be inserted. Note.
